PROFICIENCY TESTING 1ST ROUND FINAL CALL
The samples to be included in the first round of the new format proficiency testing are now ready for circulation. These include 100 samples from patients with newly diagnosed diabetes and controls. An aliquot of the WHO/JDF standard for islet autoantibodies will also be circulated with diluent serum for contruction of a standard curve.
Assays:
The proficiency testing will include assays for autoantibodies to GAD, IA-2/ICA512 and insulin
Registration fees:
	Normal participation (non-profit making institutions) - US $150
	Participants who have submitted patient sera - Free
	Commercial participants - US $1000
Dates:
	Registration deadline - September 22nd 2000
	Deadline for return of results - November 15th 2000
	The analysis of results will be presented at the 5th IDS congress in Chennai - February 2001
