| The 12th International Congress of Immunology together with the 4th Annual Conference of the Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies (FOCIS) will be held at the Palais des Congrès de Montréal, Québec, Canada from July 18 to 23, 2004.

| Scientific Program: From Fundamental Immunology to Patient-Oriented Research and Applications |
| The scientific program will consist of symposia, poster sessions and workshops subdivided into five major themes: |
| Immune Regulation ~ Host Resistance ~ Immunogenetics ~ Immune diagnosis ~ Immunointervention |
|
Major state-of-the-art plenary presentations. |
|
Regular symposia as well as 'hot' topics will be presented, the latter in debate format.
Workshops will complement the daily poster sessions. |
|
A university-industry marketplace to facilitate funding towards the development of new inventions. |
|
An immunology/biotechnology job fair. |
|
Academic luncheons for students and fellows with scientific, clinical and business experts. |
| Satellite Meetings |
A number of satellite meetings on specific topics will be held in conjunction with this event. We welcome suggestions for satellite
meetings. A list of the topics and registration information will appear in the Third Announcement. |
| Special Events and Tours
|
Various social events and tours are planned for Congress participants. There will be an opening ceremony and reception. A special evening has been organized at the Centre Bell with a circus, food and refreshments. Keep in mind that Montréal has more than 4000 restaurants! There will be city tours, visits to interesting sites of Montréal, galleries, the underground shopping centres, etc. Sites for easy day trips are nearby: Quebec City, Ottawa, Laurentian Mountains, St. Lawrence River and Islands, including whale watching tours, Eastern Townships and Green Mountains of Vermont.

| Commercial Exhibition |
The Palais des Congrès de Montréal has a large area for commercial exhibits and offers excellent opportunities for companies and institutions to show their products/services and for Congress participants to become aware of new products and technologies. Requests for tutorials and product demonstrations are encouraged.

| Travel Support |
| Travel stipends will be available, by peer review competition, for eligible students and postdoctoral fellows. |
| Further Information |
The Third Announcement will be published in October 2003 and will contain the call for abstracts, a final list of topics, the themes and symposium programs, the social events, the tours, and registration and accommodation information. In order to receive further information regarding ICI/FOCIS 2004, you must complete the reply form.

| Abstracts |
Abstracts of all accepted papers will be published and distributed at the Congress. The call for abstracts will appear in the Third Announcement to be published in October 2003.
