Treasurer's Report - Mikael Knip ecretary's Report - Carla Greenbaum

As of the end of February, 2004, I can inform you that there were 110 paid-up members of the IDS. Since we have offered a three year payment option, 55 of these people are paid through 2005. These figures suggest that only about one third of those included in the IDS Membership Directory have paid their fee for 2004. I would like to urge all those members who have not yet paid to do so as soon as possible. Similarly I wish to ask every non-member participant of the IDS-7 meeting to join the society. Note that the fee is applicable for each calendar year, which does not always correspond to the meeting dates. Paid-up members always receive a discount to the meeting itself.

The annual fee remains at $US 60 which includes either Diabetes/Metabolism Research and Reviews or Clinical Immunology. It is only $US120 annual fee if you wish to receive both journals.

As always, you can find the Membership Renewal Form on the home page of IDS (www.idsoc.org) or you can obtain the form here at Cambridge. The fee can be paid with three alternative methods listed in preferred order:

Credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Eurocard). Please note that American Express can not be used any longer.
Bank transfer directly to the bank account at Nordea Bank, Helsinki, Finland given on the form. Please use the swift code (NDEAFIHH) to speed up the transfer.
Check made payable to IDS. This alternative is the least preferred one, since it is associated with extra cost for both the sender and the receiver.

Please find me (Mikael Knip) at Cambridge, or talk with the other Council Members for any questions!
